Adult Cycle Training

Southend Borough Council’s Cycle Southend department have a new initiative that they have asked us to circulate to parents/carers.

As part of the South Essex Active Travel (SEAT) project we are able to offer subsidized adult cycle training. So, have you ever thought about using your bike for a way of getting to work, getting fit and saving money at the same time? Well, we can help you!

We have friendly qualified instructors that can offer 1:1 training, training in a group, which could be with a group of friends, a group of work colleagues – we can be flexible to meet your needs.

Each session normally lasts for 2 hours, and we will even give you a goodie bag at the end to help you on your future journeys.

We can work with adults wanting to learn to ride a bike from scratch, from building on your confidence and control skills, up to tackling busy roundabouts, dual carriageways and traffic lights. In addition you will learn how your bike works and how to check for faults.

To further support you, we can even work out your route and give you a buddy to cycle into work with on that first day.

No bike, no problem as we can lend you all the equipment needed!

No Lycra required, we teach people to cycle in their everyday clothes, we just want you to be comfortable.

Contact us if you would like to discuss any matters, we are always happy to help. Should you wish to set up your own group or training, just give us a call and we will tailor it to your needs.

This service is available to adults in the Southend, Rochford, Castlepoint, Basildon and Thurrock areas.

There is a £10 commitment fee for 1:1 bookings, but bookings for groups are free!
