We have had a couple of queries surrounding homework and would like to clarify our Year 3 homework expectations, as discussed at the new intake meeting before the summer holiday. This information can also be read on the school’s website under Year 3 Curriculum Information.
Every Friday the children will receive Maths and Spelling homework which is due back by the following Friday – as soon as it is completed they can hand it in.
On alternate weeks, Maths homework will be on-line MyMaths (starting from this Friday 21.9.18). Log-ins will be provided for the children. If you have difficulty accessing the online homework your child can ask their teacher for a paper copy.
Each half term, we ask that children complete 3 pieces of creative homework. They have been provided with a copy of suggested activities but children may come up with their own ideas if they prefer.
In addition, we ask that children read regularly at home and they have been allocated books from school that they can change as often as required. They should also practise their times tables. By the end of Year 3 they should know multiplication and division facts for the 3x, 4x and 8x tables. (End of Year 2 2x, 5x and 10x tables).
If you have any further queries, please speak to your child’s teacher who will be happy to help.
