The Year 5 team have been working very hard to plan many exciting opportunities to enhance the curriculum throughout the year. Our trip next term will be to Southchurch Hall situated at the heart of Southchurch Hall Gardens, as part of our ‘Who was the real Horrid Henry?’ topic.
We have a fantastic half day planned for the children that will allow them to immerse themselves in our Tudor-based topic, especially focusing on Christmas traditions from this time. This trip will support many subjects across the curriculum.
Class 5OS will be going on Monday 26th November 2018 at 9:15am, travelling by train and returning by lunchtime. This will be followed by Class 5DS at 12 noon, to return to school by home time.
Class 5LR will be going on Tuesday 27th November 2018 at 9:15am, travelling by train and returning by lunchtime. This will be followed by Class 5CF at 12 noon, to return to school by home time.
All children will be required to bring a healthy snack, drink of water and a packed lunch. If your child is entitled to free school meals and requires a packed lunch provided by the school, please indicate on the slip on the letter.
The cost of the trip is £7.00, which includes the cost of train travel. When organising school activities which will enrich the curriculum experience of the children, the school invites parents to contribute towards the cost. All contributions are voluntary, and unfortunately if we do not receive sufficient contributions, we will have to cancel this visit.
Please pay using the on-line SIMs Agora system. If you have forgotten your reference number or need assistance with the on line payment system, please see a member of the office staff.
We will require parental assistance on this trip, so please indicate on the reply slip if you are available or speak directly to your child’s class teacher. Any assistance offered is greatly appreciated.
