Newsletter – 10th May 2019

Another busy week here at Chalkwell Hall with lots of trips, assemblies and sports events going on.

Year 5 enjoyed their trip to the Hindu Mandir at Neasden on Tuesday. They took a tour of the magnificently ornate building, learned about the beliefs and teachings of Hinduism and were able to be part of an Arti ceremony.

Half of Year 4 stayed closer to home but thoroughly enjoyed their trip around Old Leigh as part of their studies on the history of our local area. The other half have rescheduled for a day that hopefully won’t be as wet as their original date!

Our Year 3&4 tennis team competed at Garon Park this morning and represented us brilliantly whilst winning silver medals. Well done team and good luck to the Year 5&6 team who will be competing this afternoon.

We have added a new item to our uniform list which is a gingham playsuit (very similar to the summer dresses but with shorts on the lower half rather than a skirt). They will be available at our usual stockists next year but are currently available in Sainsbury’s, Tesco’s, M&S, Next and Matalan should you wish to purchase in the near future.

PTA news – Go Bonkers

As we previously mentioned, wristbands for the Go Bonkers first session are sold out and online sales for the second session will end today, Friday 10th May 2019 – so if you still wish to purchase wristbands for this session please do so via the PTA website link below by the end of the day by selecting “Go Bonkers – Late session” from the “What’s on” list.

Please note, a wristband is required for each child to gain access to the event and those already purchased were delivered to the school this morning along with a covering letter to explain the arrangements on the day. All wristbands ordered on each booking should therefore be sent home this afternoon via one of the school children listed on that booking.

Please note, as each session requires different coloured wristbands we have separated the wristbands between early session bookings and late session bookings so if you have different children attending both the early and late sessions you will receive two envelopes.

Theatre tickets

Our reservation for discounted tickets to “The Worst Witch” at the Vaudeville Theatre, London and “Les Misérables” at the Queen’s Theatre, London will expire next week so of you wish to purchase discounted tickets for either of these shows then please ensure you purchase these via the PTA site using the link above before the closing date set out below.

By selecting “Shop” then “Uniform and Merchandise” from the bar across the top of the site, you will be taken to the ticket sales page where you will find full details of the seats available for each performance currently on offer.
