We plan to take Year 3 on a trip to Old Leigh and Southend Seafront on Tuesday 11th June 2019, as part of our topic How can a picture tell a story?
Our topic is going to be focused on the local artist Paul Alcock and we will be visiting two of the local areas which are featured in his work: the Southend Seafront Lagoon and Old Leigh. During our trip we will be carrying out a series of observational drawings, which we will use to inspire the artwork and creative writing that we are going to carry out during the term.
The children will need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle (in a bag they can comfortably carry all day) and wear weather appropriate clothing. School uniform will still be worn and please ensure they have a suitable jacket and footwear. If your child is entitled to free school meals and would like a packed lunch provided by the school, please indicate on the slip in the letter.
There will be no cost for the trip; however, we will need some parents/carers to help with this trip, which will last for the whole school day. If you are available to assist please indicate on the slip in the letter.
You only need to return the reply slip if you are requesting a school packed lunch or are available to help. We already have permission to take children on local visits during school time.
