Newsletter – 28th June 2019

The amount of success our children have had this year is nothing short of phenomenal and this week carried on in exactly that fashion!

Our Drama Club and Glee Club entered the Leigh Music and Drama Festival Competition and blew away the judges with some absolutely stunning performances. The children performed with a skill and confidence level of those much, much older and it was a genuine joy to watch them. The Drama Club won both their categories and the Glee Club came away with 2 silver medals. A wonderful display of what our children’s natural talent coupled with hard work can achieve – well done all!

Our rounders teams have had a great week with Year 6 coming 4th in the Essex finals, Year 4 coming 4th in the borough tournament and our Year 5s winning gold in their competition!

To cap off another great week, our Year 4 tennis team played in the Essex finals, having come runners up in the borough tournament, and came away with gold as well!

A quick reminder for those that haven’t had a junior school sports day letter that we welcome parents to come and have a picnic at lunch on 3rd July in between the Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 sessions.

Our Year 6’s writing was moderated by the Local Authority this week, as they have to every few years, and I’m delighted to say they confirmed our team’s views on the strengths of our Year 6 children’s work. Great results for the team and the children who have worked so hard together this year!

Finally, a quick reminder from the office – could parents return the food allergy/intolerance forms as soon as possible please?

Many thanks!

Summer fete

The sun is shining, the stalls and games are ready and the Pimm’s is on ice so please join us tomorrow for our biggest, fun-filled, fundraiser of the year, the “Summer Fete”.

A BIG thank you, as always, to everyone who has offered to help at the fete or provided donations for some of our stalls and raffle, to our event sponsor Coulson James and especially to all of you who are planning to come along tomorrow and support this event. We hope you all have a great afternoon.

Access will be via the Junior School gate from 12:00pm and the fete is planned to end around 3:00pm. Please bring plenty of change as there will be face painting, lots of games, refreshments and craft stalls (including revelation arts & crafts, children’s clothing and accessories, homewares by Cockle Crew and many more) plus plenty of other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.

A few points to note:

For anyone planning to donate cakes and cookies to our fete stall could you please bring them to the playground from 9am on Saturday morning but please note they MUST NOT CONTAIN NUTS.

We are still in need of volunteers to help clear away at the end of the fete so if anyone is able to kindly volunteer from 3pm please email

If you would like to purchase tickets for the raffle and have not yet done so then tickets will be available to purchase at the event with the draw taking place outside the school library at 2:30pm.

Book of Mormon

Following a number of requests, we have reserved tickets to “The Book of Mormon” which continues to delight and shock London audiences. A winner of nine 2011 Tony Awards with a number of sensational reviews and sell-out shows under its belt, The Book of Mormon tickets remain among the hottest in the West End.

Discounted tickets are available for performances on Monday – Thursday evenings and so, following the recent release of additional dates, we have been able to move quickly and reserve fantastic seats in rows J-L of the Central Stalls for two evening performances on either Thursday 24th October 2019 or Thursday 14th November 2019 at the Prince of Wales theatre in London’s West End.

Tickets are a fantastically discounted £49 compared with the box office price of £83 but please note, due to the fast approaching school summer break, our reservation for these tickets will need to close by 16th July 2019.

If you wish to purchase discounted tickets for the Book of Mormon or any of the Cliffs Pavilion shows we are currently selling then please do so via the “Shop” then “Uniform and Merchandise” link on the PTA website set out above.
