As I hope you are aware, we teach our Relationships and Sex Education using the Yasmine and Tom scheme of work in line with Southend schools.
I am writing to advise you that during the week of 1st July 2019, Year 4 will be completing a unit of work from the Yasmine and Tom scheme of work which looks at the correct terminology for male and female sexual body parts.
This forms part of our Science teaching to do with life cycles and also responds to the need to give pupils the correct knowledge and understanding to safeguard themselves. We will also be covering the NSPCC PANTS Campaign, which helps pupils to understand that particular parts of their bodies are private.
If you would like to discuss this work further please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.
