Newsletter – 4th October 2019

Congratulations to our newly appointed Junior Governor and Eco Warrior teams. These pupils have been nominated by their peers to be the class representatives and put forward the pupil voice in lots of important matters. Our Junior Governors make important decisions on behalf of the school around fundraising activities, which charities we support and how we do that, represent us in the community and are the first point of contact for their classmates for any great ideas or concerns they may have and want to share with the rest of the school.

Our Eco Warriors take the lead in various project around school over the course of the year and help keep a check on the adults to make sure we are being as eco-friendly as we can possibly be! Well done to both teams on your nominations, we look forward to working with you this year.


We have set up a specific email address for the submission of homework via email (memory sticks can carry viruses so it’s best not to use them) if children need to submit it electronically rather than on paper. The address is

Our first cross country event of the year saw all four year groups competing as teams in very competitive races with around 150 runners in each one! All year group teams performed superbly and we are awaiting the final results to see which teams make it through to the Essex finals.


Our Year 5 mixed football team had a great day at Chase high on Thursday. They played some great football, scored plenty of goals and came 2nd overall – well done team!

Southend Seafront fireworks start this Saturday 5th October and run until Saturday 16th November. You can buy your discounted Adventure Island tickets in advance online via our website (select ‘shop’, then ‘uniform & merchanidise’) or from Coulson James on Leigh Broadway.


CURRY NIGHT will be held at the Taj Mahal next Tuesday 8th October at 7.30pm and will cost £14 per person for a buffet style meal. If you haven’t returned your slips and payment, don’t worry, please just hand them in on Monday or email We look forward to enjoying the evening with you.

This week there were 34 times when a child arrived late to school. Our overall attendance so far this term is 97.8%
