Newsletter – 24th January 2020

Every so often we have to remind people of their responsibilities in how they use their cars on the way to and from school in our very busy community. We have witnessed many occasions where children are dropped off on the double yellow lines at the lights outside school and sometimes not even on the inside lane! This is clearly an accident waiting to happen and something we desperately want to avoid so, if you have to drive to the school to drop off, please leave adequate time to find somewhere safe and sensible to park whilst also avoiding the driveways of our neighbours!

On a sunnier note, I have had the pleasure of watching our children out and about being generally awesome again this week. At the indoor athletics at Garon Park on Wednesday both the Year 3&4 and the Year 5&6 teams performed superbly with lots of individual and group wins to see them finish 11th and 2nd respectively out of 17 teams competing. Our Year 5&6 team will now represent Southend in the Essex finals!

Wednesday night saw our talented singers perform at the O2, as part of an 8000 strong choir, supporting a host of famous singers and dancers. It was a fantastic show and our stars of the future were superb!

To cap off a week of our children displaying their talents, our Year 4 boys are competing in a football tournament at the Len Forge centre today – good luck boys!

For those of you already planning holidays for the next academic year (2020-2021), our non-pupil days are as follows:
