As part of our continued drive to ensure the children from Chalkwell Hall Junior School take part in lots of sporting events, we will once again be entering the swimming gala this year. As we are lacking our own swimming pool I am writing to ask parents/carers for your assistance with identifying our more able swimmers.
We need you to provide us with the your child’s 25m length times so that we can identify our strongest swimmers in each stroke and organise some trials and training sessions with those children.
A large number of our children swim regularly with clubs such as BOSS or SOS and their times should be easy to obtain from their coaches. We also have talented swimmers who do not belong to clubs. If your child does not swim for a club but is a strong, competent swimmer and you would like to put them forward for the competition, then please fill in the information on the return slip for any of the strokes that they would like to be considered for (they don’t need to be able to do all 4!).
From the information received, we will select children for swimming trials and, if successful, notify parents in due course with information about the borough gala. Letters should be returned by 28th February 2020.
Thank you for your continued support.
