To support our topic ‘What did the Romans do for us?, Year 4 are visiting Colchester Castle on Monday 16th March 2020 to explore Roman artefacts and discover more about the Roman way of life.
We will be travelling by coach to Colchester Castle. The cost of the trip will be £15 per child. Please make payment for this trip using SIMS Pay. If you have not registered for the system, please speak to a member of the office staff and they will provide you with an invitation code.
For the visit, all children should wear their normal school uniform (including coats) along with comfortable walking shoes. Children will also require a packed lunch and drink of water for the day (in a plastic bag rather than their packed lunch box – so that all rubbish can be disposed of easily.) If your child is entitled to a free school meal and requires a packed lunch, please indicate on the slip below. On the day of the visit, children should arrive at school at 8.15am in order to leave by 8.45am. We aim to return to school at 3.30pm dependent on traffic.
We will need parental assistance with this trip, please indicate on the reply slip if you would like to assist.
When organising school activities which will enrich the curriculum experience of the children, the school invites parents to contribute towards the cost. All contributions are voluntary, unfortunately, if we do not receive sufficient contributions, we will have to cancel this visit.
Please return the permission slip to your child’s class teacher by Friday 28th February 2020. If you are unable to contribute financially please inform your child’s teacher by letter.
