Dear Year 5 Parents/Carers,
With the continued disruption to our lives at the moment and schools closed, some of you may be worried about preparing for the 11+ which is due to take place in September of this year. I wanted to take the chance to remind you of the key dates so that nobody misses the chance to apply for their child to take the test.
To help your child prepare for the test, if you are choosing to sit it, there are a number of resources on this page https://www.csse.org.uk/?view=mycomp with links to past papers that can be used for practice (along with the answers) and advice on the continuous writing section in terms of what the examiners are looking for when they award marks.
On the CSSE website there is only the following message for parents:
The CSSE Office is located in a school and in line with government guidelines regarding the COVID 19 virus, our office is currently closed. Please do not send emails to the office as this will not be monitored during the closure period. Information regarding the 2021 Entry examination will be published on our website in due course. You may also find information on the individual schools’ websites. We appreciate your patience at this difficult time. CSSE Office
The Information Guide for 2021 Entry will be published on the website in the Summer Term.
2021 Entry Examination: Saturday 19th September 2020.
Registration for 2021 Entry: 19th May 2020 until 1st July 2020
I would suggest that you check their website over the next couple of weeks as the registration guide will most likely only be available through the CSSE directly, rather than via primary schools as would usually be the case if we continue to be closed.
